This is one of those stories that is at first difficult to follow because it is an attempt to tell it from an alien's point of view. However, it isn't long before you get the hang of it and can follow the arc of what at first seems to be a happy and fun story about a journey across a desert with the Humans masterminding the cute aliens. At first, this seems to be a good thing. The journey is a long one, though, and it gives the cute aliens a rare opportunity to think.
