Nobel prize for Manga

For all you Manga fans out there, The Times of India reports the folllowing

Chinese 'comic man' Lee Chi Ching of Hong Kong bagged the 'Nobel Prize of Manga', a Japanese recognition to artistes working in the comic book genre abroad. This is the first 'Nobel Prize of Manga', an award that will now be given annually.

Lee developed an adventure-based comic series , which ran from 1995-2006 in Chinese. The comic strip has also been translated into numerous languages.

According to a statement released by Japan's Foreign Ministry, Lee’s comic strip 'Sun Zi's Tactics' displaced approximately 145 entries from 26 countries to bag the first prize.
Lee, along with three runners-up, had then been invited to Japan for a 10-day visit where they will all receive their respective trophies in Tokyo on July 2.


That is great news.
